This according to the Police boss is to avert crises at the Airport.

Speaking with DAILY TREND exclusively, the incumbent Chairman of the chapter, Bamgbala Adewusi said the inauguration of Tope Akindele and his Executives were not part of decisions ratified at the NEC Meeting held at the National Secretariat on Monday.

He said “We were shocked that after the meeting, the President gathered these people in his office and he announced that they have been inaugurated as Executives, without even writing us any letter. We as a Chapter have never been found wanting, we pay our dues as at when due, we were dully elected into office. A President of Nigeria cannot just wake up one day and decide to remove a democratically elected Governor ” he said

The CP at a crucial meeting with all parties in the ensuing crisis on Monday in Lagos ordered the chapter to maintained the status quo pending the outcome of the Appeal Court ruling on the case between the incumbent Chairman, Prince Bagmibala Adewusi, ANLCA NECOM, ANLCA BOT Vs Alhaji Bola Ashiru Balogun.

The National President of ANLCA, Emenike Nwokeoji was represented at the meeting by the Western Zone Coordinator, Femi Anifowose and his Secretary, Alhaji Idowu Owoade. The ANLCA Board of Trustees was represented by Prince Ozo Chukwura while Tope Akindele, his group, as well as Bamgbala Adewusi and his executive attended the meeting.

A source who was at the meeting with the meeting confirmed that after all parties presented their positions and taking into consideration, the incumbent Chairman, Prince Bagmibala Adewusi was duly elected and his tenure is still running, even though the matter is in court, everybody should maintain the status quo.

The source said that , though the newly elected ANLCA Excos at the Airport Chapter were urging the CP to locked up the Chapter Secretariat, but the the CP refused, rather he promised to investigate the Appeal Court case if it is genuine and to allow the rule of law to take its course.

It could be recalled that on Friday, 26th April during an Emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of ANLCA, the National President of ANLCA has inaugurated new Executives to run the affairs of the association’s Airport Chapter, ignoring the pending case at the Court of Appeal Lagos, between Prince Bagmibala Adewusi, ANLCA NECOM, ANLCA BOT Vs Alhaji Bola Ashiru Balogun.

The case which was instituted by Alhaji Bola Ashiru Balogun challenging the victory of Prince Bagmibala Adewusi has gone through the Federal High Court which delivered judgement in favour of Alhaji Bola Ashiru Balogun, but Prince Bagmibala Adewusi has appeal the judgement which is coming up on 21st May 2024 for hearing.

The legal battle between the two parties at the ANLCA Airport Chapter started in 2022, from the Federal High Court with case Reference No: Appeal No: CA/LAG/CV/1084/2023, SUITE NO:FHC/L/CS/758/2022.”
