Merchant Sail Navy Holds POP for Batch 010MNF Cadets, Charges Officers On Discipline, Professionalism

The Commander General of the Nigerian Merchant Sail Navy, Captain JohnLinus Okoronkwo has commended both officers, ratings and members of the Nigerian Merchant Sail Navy for their good conduct, professionalism and dedication to service in the organization.

The Commander General made this remark at the national passing out Parade of her batch 010MNF cadets at Oscar Marine Ship Base Ogun State Command which marks the first POP of the year 2023. He also charged them to raise the bar in promoting the good image of the organization Nigerian Merchant Sail Navy.

He said “The reality on the ground suggests that we cannot rest on our oars. I take this opportunity to assure you that, in these tasks, we will continue to ensure an enabling environment.

Capt. JohnLinus appreciated the presence of the DPO Sango Divisional Area Command Sango Ota Ogun State Represented by SP Dapo Ojekunle who gave a promise in working together with the Nigerian Merchant Sail Navy.

“As officers, ratings and members of MSN, you must therefore take your duties seriously as your progression will be based on your professional competence. It is imperative that you utilize all available opportunities to attain sound professional growth and eschew practices likely to earn you unpleasant measures.” Capt. JohnLinus said.

Meanwhile the Commanding Officer of Oscar Marine Ship Base Ogun State Command, Commander Egwu Angel who is the first female commander and the new CO of Oscar Marine Ship Base Ogun State Command also commended the new inducted officers of Nigerian Merchant Sail Navy for their dedication, discipline and act of gallantry in safeguarding the lives and properties of people as one of the organization objectives approved, certified and verified under the Corporate Affairs Commission Abuja Nigeria.

She said “I commend you all for your part individually and collectively to the success of NMSN activities and operations. This has provided a secured environment for the peace loving people of Nigeria to celebrate.

“I appreciate your family members for their support and maintaining the home front particularly when their spouses,father’s or parents are out answering the call to duty”.

Others present at the event include; Sail Navy Commander Zion Obimeze Lagos State CO, Sail Navy Commander Prosper Nwachukwu Anambra State CO, Sail Navy Commander Godwin Samuel Akwa Ibom State CO and the Harmony Community Development Association Ogun State Executive.
