Dockworkers Branch Eulogize Comrade Adeyanju As 1st Deputy President of NLC

The President, Dockworkers Branch of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) Comrade Ibrahim Tajudeen Ohize has congratulated and eulogized the President General of the union, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju on his recent emergence as the 1st Deputy President of the Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC)

Comrade Adeyanju was on Wednesday elected unopposed as the 1st Deputy President of NLC at it’s 13th National Delegate Conference held at the International Conference Center in Abuja.

Comrade Adeyanju emerged alongside the NLC National President, Comrade Joe Ajaero among other national executives.

Comrade Ohize on behalf of the entire dockworkers branch however issued a congratulatory message on Friday, saying that the entire branch is solidly behind the PG in his new assignment.

According to him, Comrade Adeyanju deserves the top position of the NLC, going by his antecedents in the maritime industry. He said the MWUN PG has touched
the lives of all members of the Dockworkers through improved welfare package negotiation with their employers.

According to Comrade Ohize, the peace and tranquility enjoyed in the Nigerian ports today is a testimony of good leadership of Comrade Adeyanju, even as he described him as a light in the industry.

“The Dockworkers Branch and it’s entire members are solidly behind our President General, we congratulate him on his new position as the number-two man on the NLC”

“We also want to reiterate our support and commitment for him on this new assignment.

“We are positive that the footprints of Comrade Adeyanju’s leadership can never be erased from the sand of the maritime industry in Nigeria. Forward Ever! Backward Never!!” Ohize stated.
