ANLCA Partners Access Bank on ‘ATM-Enabled’ Biometric Identity Card for Members

In a major step toward digital integration and modernizing trade facilitation, the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has sealed a partnership with Access Bank to introduce biometric, customized identity cards for its members across the country.
The initiative was made public by the Vice President of ANLCA, Prince Segun Oduntan, during a press briefing held at the association’s National Secretariat in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, ahead of its upcoming 72nd Anniversary celebrations.
According to Oduntan, the biometric card is designed to enhance identification, boost operational security, and offer seamless financial services for practitioners in the maritime sector. Beyond serving as a standard professional badge, the customized card functions as a fully operational ATM card that members can use for financial transactions and cash withdrawals across all banking platforms nationwide.
“On September 29th, which is our 72nd anniversary event, we are going to launch our Access Bank card. When you have the ANLCA Access Bank card now, you can use it as your ATM. That is the ANLCA of today that we are talking about,” Oduntan declared.
Addressing potential misconceptions around the project, Oduntan clarified that the card is strictly designed for member identification and financial convenience rather than internal electoral processes.
He also emphasized that holding the card does not exempt members from fulfilling their financial obligations to the body.
“The customized card is not for election; it is an ID card for identification. But that does not mean that once you have it as a member, you do not pay your dues. With that card, we can identify you anywhere. It is biometric, but it is customized specifically for ANLCA,” he explained.
Oduntan noted that the association’s revamped digital footprint and innovative solutions reflect a forward-looking organization built on stability, peace, and professional efficiency.
