Ports Authority Police Sets to Commemorate Maiden National Police Day

The Ports Authority Police (Western Command) of the Nigerian Police Force, under the leadership of its Commissioner, Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola is set to join the maiden edition of the National Police Day 2025

The command in a statement by ts Public Relations Officer, ASP Isaac Hundeyin on Wednesday said the command would join the Force headquarters, other formations, and state commands of the Force to commemorate the week long celebration commencing on 2nd April 2025 with activities around Apapa and its environs culminating with a grand parade and procession at the Eagle’s Square, Abuja on 7th April 2025.

Activities to mark the week long celebrations according to the command includes, town hall meetings with relevant stakeholders at the command headquarters, security sensitization walk from the Apapa Port main entrance to the Tincan island port, cleanup of designated areas around Apapa and its environs, and a medical outreach to General Hospital, Apapa.

“The National Police Day celebration is a platform for the Nigeria Police Force to be celebrated, engage closely with the community, display it’s operational readiness while appreciating the selfless service of its officers and men in keeping the country safe, some of whom have paid the supreme price in the line of duty.

“CP Olanrewaju Olawale Ishola appreciates all critical maritime stakeholders for their cooperation in ensuring the nation’s ports are safe for businesses to thrive.

“He encourages all port users to continue to support the command in reporting all suspicious activities while strictly adhering to all extant laws and safety precautions” Hundeyin stated
