In a symbolic event at Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt, the outgoing MWUN President General, Comrade Adeyanju Adewale, officially unveiled Comrade Francis Bunu Abi as his successor.
The gathering, attended by MWUN executives, and industry stakeholders, was marked by solidarity and celebration.
With members from all MWUN branches in Port Harcourt, Warri, Calabar, and Akwa Ibom in attendance, the event reinforced the union’s unity and Adeyanju’s legacy of stability.
As MWUN’s national election approaches on March 28, Bunu’s unveiling signals strong support for his leadership in advancing workers’ welfare and industry reforms.
In a recent interview, Comrade Adeyanju had described his anointed candidate, Comrade Francis Bunu as a good administrator who would not betray the workers trust, but defend their welfare.
“The incoming President General would perform more than me, and that’s my prayer. A good leader must have a successor, for the past three years, I have been grooming my successor and he would do more than Adeyanju” he said
