Shippers Council, Immigration Service Forge Stronger Partnership for Secure, Efficient Port Operations

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Dr Akutah Pius Ukeyima on Tuesday played host to the Comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Lagos Seaports/Marine Command, Comptroller Clementina Ogbudu, as both agencies explore areas of partnership in ensuring efficient port operations.

The meeting which took place at the Shippers’ Council Headquarters in Apapa GRA, was a step toward fostering collaboration and ensuring a secure and efficient maritime business environment.

Speaking on behalf of her team, Comptroller Clementina Ogbudu emphasized the need for strong partnerships with the Shippers Council, in order to enhance the Immigration service’s delivery and uphold its mandate.

In response, Executive Secretary of the Shippers Council, Dr Akutah Pius Ukeyima reaffirmed the Council’s commitment to improving efficiency in maritime trade.

He also highlighted the critical role of inter-agency collaboration in breaking down barriers and promoting seamless operations at the ports.

He noted that Nigeria Immigration Service plays a vital role in regulating immigration at the ports, and the engagement underscores the importance of working together to achieve shared objectives.
