Commonwealth Business Women Africa Exco Visits Lagos First Lady, Sanwo-Olu, Advocates Support for 2025 Summit

Hajia Bola Muse, President of Commonwealth Business Women Africa, Nigeria Chapter, has led her Executive members to office of the Lagos State First Lady, Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu to seek collaboration towards the 2025 Commonwealth Summit in Lagos Nigeria.
The 2025 Commonwealth Business Women Africa Summit is scheduled between the 7th to 9th of March 2025.
In her address, Hajia Muse said that the Summit will bring together women from across Africa to showcase the rich culture of Nigeria, particularly Lagos.
According to her, the summit aims to spotlight Nigerian businesswomen, providing them with a unique opportunity to network and engage in discussions about their respective businesses with counterparts from around the world.
While briefing the First Lady on what the group stands for, she said
“Our organization is a non-governmental organization headquartered in Nigeria and present in 25 other African countries, led by its continental president, Mrs. Ngozi Oyewole, while myself, Hajia Bola Muse serves as the president of the Nigerian chapter.
“Commonwealth Business Women Africa Nigeria (CBW Africa) is dedicated to empowering women across Africa by providing them with the tools and resources they need to achieve success in every aspect of their lives”
She said some of the projects the organization is currently working on includes;
1. At the continental level across Africa, we are committed to training one million girls in coding, this is a program we launched earlier this year. In Nigeria, we officially launched our Coding and AI program on the 28th of April, with the program scheduled to conclude on the 28th of June.
2. As part of our projects in the third quarter of this year, We have established a committee tasked with identifying communities in need of water, we will provide accessible and potable water for the benefit of all residents. It is our belief that clean water is a prerequisite for healthy living, and as such, every woman and girl deserve access to clean water.
3, Also, as part of our yearly event around International Women’s Day, we are excited to announce that we are preparing to host our 2025 Annual Summit in Lagos.
4. Finally, we have also just launched an online Trade Center to enable our women to display and trade online with their counterparts worldwide.
Continuing, Hajia Muse appealed to the Lagos First Lady, saying “Excellency, through this visit, we seek your collaboration with us on training and capacity building, as well as on our 2025 Commonwealth Business Women Africa Summit scheduled between the 7th to 9th of March 2025.
“We are committed to ensuring that every woman or girl is encouraged to thrive, remain self sustainable, and contribute to the economy of Lagos as well as the countryas a whole”
Responding, the Lagos State First Lady, Mrs Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu expressed her excitement about the programmes, activities and what the NGO stands for.
Mrs Ibijoke subsequently pledged her readiness to collaborate with Hajia Bola Muse and her team, and to grant their organisation’s requests.
