At Tin Can Port, Progressive Maritime Association Visits DSS, Port Police, Forms Alliance

The Progressive Maritime Association of Lagos (PMAL) on Monday embarked on a strategic stakeholders consultation at the Tin Can Island Port.

The Association, led by its Chairman, Mr Dada Anifowose visited the Tin Can Port Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Nigerian Port Police, A.B Folaranmi, as well as a visit to the Tin Can Port Director of DSS, Mr M.B Waziri.

Members present at the PMAL courtesy visit are: The Chairman, Mr Dada Anifowose, General Secretary, Comrade Akinbola Hammed Rotham, Treasurer, Samson Adekoya, Welfare officer, Lukman Olugbade.

Others are; the Public Relations Officer, Adams Jamiu, and Ojo Olayinka, a member.

The PMAL members were encouraged by the security agencies to be a better representative of importers in all ramifications and to be a good citizen.

DAILY TREND reports that PMAL was established since 2008, by former Tin Can Chairman of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) Late Prince Kayode Adetayo Oyinlola who used his resources to gather some promising youngsters among the custom brokers and freight forwarders together.

The essence of the group was to address bottlenecks in trade facilitation and cargoes clearance, as well as to promote and protect the interest of custom brokers/freight forwarders in the industry, and support all the Government Agencies operating in the industry.

Prince Kayode Oyinlola was the Patron of the association until his demise when the members of PMAL decided to register the Association with cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC) on 4th of March 2019 with CAC/lT/N0125486.

Three years ago, the association honored Prince Segun Oduntan, the current Vice President of ANLCA as its Grand Patron.
