HAPPENING NOW: Pandemonium At Tin Can Island Port as Hoodlums Attack, Disrupt Ongoing ANLCA Campaign

There is ongoing pandemonium at the Tin Can Island Port as several hoodlums suspected to have been hired, attacked port users going about their normal business, even as several persons have been wounded.

The crisis also disrupted the ongoing Presidential campaign flagg off of Emenike-Oduntan Restoration Team of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA)

Sources at the port alleged that the attack was sponsored and masterminded by opposition of the ANLCA Presidential candidate, while some claimed that the attack was carried out due to face-off among Truck drivers.

DAILY TREND correspondent who was on ground to witness the pandemonium reported that trouble started when the Presidential aspirant of ANLCA, Emenike Nwokeoji and his entourage entered the venue of the campaign which is directly in front of open space at Tin Can first gate.

The ANLCA Campaign train had started from the PTML Terminal peacefully with a visit to the PTML Customs Command amd the Tin Can Island Customs Command. But at the time the reception was to kickstart, the hoodlums struck while every member scarpered for safety.

As at the time of filing this report, there is sporadic gunshots while security agencies battle to contain the situation.

An eyewitness told our correspondent that “This is not the first time they are doing this, the other time, we were meeting peacefully at our secretariat when they Attacked us”

Another respondent told our correspondent that “The attack was sponsored by external boys from Oshodi area, the claim that these boys are Truck drivers is not true. They started the calculated attack when they saw that our dignitaries were seated”
