Comptroller Oloyede Hosts Customs Cadets On Study Tour to Tincan Island Command

In continuance of the study tour and as part of the College curriculum of the Nigeria Customs Training College, Ikeja, the Commandant, Deputy Comptroller Haniel Hadison, has led over 40 Customs Cadets to the Tincan Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service as a way of providing real-world insights into the operations of one of the busiest and most critical Customs Area Command in Nigeria.

The memorable visit, which was graced by the presence of the Area Controller, Comptroller Adekunle Adewale Oloyede and other senior Officers, is aimed at the institution’s commitment towards enhancing the practical skills and knowledge of its future customs officers.

Speaking to the press, Comptroller Oloyede emphasized that the tour was a comprehensive learning experience for the cadets, where they were able to witness the day-to-day operations of Customs Officers in action, starting from cargo inspection and clearance procedures to container tracking and documentation, stressing that the cadets had the opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to various aspects of customs operations. He further mentioned that knowledge is a continuum; as such, he urged the Customs Service to build up this kind of innovation to improve Cadet’s practical skill, knowledge and experience.

The Commandant of the Customs Training College, Deputy Comptroller Hadison, praised the cadets’ efforts and emphasized the institution’s commitment to producing highly competent and ethical Customs Officers.

He stated, “This study tour is a pivotal component of our training program, as it allows our cadets to witness the dynamic and challenging nature of Customs work.

It helps them comprehend the significance of their roles in fostering international trade, safeguarding national security, and revenue generation”.

He emphasized the importance of integrity, professionalism and adaptability in carrying out their duties effectively.

During the visit, the cadets were also engaged in interactive sessions with experienced Customs Officers who shared valuable and practical knowledge garnered through years of service.
