ANLCA Election: Western Zone Members Write BOT, Insists On 2008 Constitution for Election

…Urges BOT to Take Over Running of Association

Members of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) practicing in the Western Zone has written the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the association, insisting that the 2008 constitution of the association should be deployed in conducting the forming National Executive Committee (NECOM) elections.
The letter obtained exclusively by DAILY TREND was signed by the duo of Ademola Balogun of Emperor Cargo Logistics Limited and Musa Eniola of Tull Logistics Limited.
The Western Zone practitioners also advised the BOT that only members with the current year 2023 Customs licenses be allowed to participate for the elections.
The practitioners also insisted that members of the Association Electoral Committee (NECOM) saddled with responsibility of conducting the election must also show a prove of their valid customs clearing licenses.
The letter reads in part “At the emergency meeting of the Stakeholders of the Western Zone of the Association of Nigerian Licensed customs Agents (ANLCA), the following resolutions are reached as paramount and vital to be implemented before the forthcoming elections of the Association.
1. In line with the Constitution of ANLCA, The BOT MUST take over the daily running of Association as soon as the extended tenure of the NECOM expires in June.
2. The BOT must take appropriate steps to hasten the CAC registration/certification to avoid litigation as previously suffered in recent years
3. Members of the ASECO individual Customs’s licenses must be adequately screened to ensure compliance.
4. The Association constitution of 2008 only must be the only applicable constitution to be used for the forthcoming elections being the only last generally agreed constitution for now.
5. The sum of N50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira) development levy must be continuously maintained and applicable to all new members of the Association
6. We advise that only members with the current year 2023 Customs licenses be allowed to participate for the elections.
