Customs Intercept 88 cartons of Bleaching Cream Worth N10.5million
The Western Marine Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has intercepted 88-cartons of Caro White Cream (bleaching cream) with duty Paid Value of 10, 560,000.00 as well as other sundry items at various locations within the area command.
The Western Marine Customs Command has its operational area covering the whole of western axis of Nigeria and extends up to North western region of the country.
Outstations under the command are located at idiroko, Ijora, several creeks in Badagry, Yekeme, Bar Beach, Igbokoda and Yauri in Kebbi State.
The Customs Area Comptroller (CAC), of the command, Comptroller Oduadu Salefu in a media conference in Lagos on Tuesday said the command also seized bags of 50kg-size foreign parboiled rice; 8,825 liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) contained in 468 kegs of 25 liters each.
Others he listed as 700 pairs of foreign-used shoes; 20 used foreign ladies’ bags; 88 cartons of Caro White Cream (bleaching cream), 50 pairs of expired tyres, 3 Outboard boat engines and one water pumping machine.
“All items were seized at various intervals within the period under review,” he said.
Compt Salefu added that the command has gotten two gunboats and two logistics boats from management of the service between March 28th and 3rd of April 2023 respectively.
According to him, all the contraband goods intercepted by the command is placed with Duty Paid Value (DPV) of N110.2 million, between January to March 2023.
