The Ocean Ambassadors Foundation is set to hold a 1-day Free Seminar for school teachers and proprietors on the advantages of the Blue Economy and the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) and how to instill the awareness in students from early stages.

Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Hon Williams Olaitan Violet told DAILY TREND that the concept of Blue Economy and the AfCFTA cannot be effective unless it’s targeted at the future by teaching it to secondary school students through the teachers and principals.

The program tagged “Overview of 2030 Blue Economy and AfCFTA Advantages” is set to hold on 16th of February 2023 at 13/15 Ladipo Oluwole Street, Apapa GRA Lagos by 9.am.

According to Hon Williams, the special guest of honour for the program is an accomplished administrator and educator, a retired permanent secretary (LASG+Tutor General District 3) Dr. Mrs Yinka Ayandele.

The various speakers lined up for the seminar includes; Dr Alban Igwe, Director of Research and Training, Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) Mrs. Chinwe Ezenwa, Founder, Lelook, Mrs Adekogbe, Education Consultant.

Others are; Dr. Emmanuel Audu, Director, Lagos State Government’s Ministry of Agriculture, Chief Tarzan Balogun, Chairman, Tarzan Boats.

Speaking, Hon Williams said “If the teachers are not equipped with 21st century skills, how can the students be empowered with global trendy careers like maritime and how can the teachers better their lot if we don’t hold seminars like this to get to the grassroot for advocacy of the Blue Economy and AFCFTA

“We are joining the global Village in commemorating International year of Education and the teachers are the best to target when we talk about education” she concluded
