How ANLCA Knockout NAGAFF’s Candidate From CRFFN Vice Chairmaship Position

Fresh indications have emerged on how Chief Henry Njoku, a member of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) managed to retain his Vice Chairmaship seat of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN)

DAILY TREND gathered that Princess Chi Eze, a prominent chieftain of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) was also nursing ambition of becoming the Vice Chairman.

She would have been the first female to achieve the position, and considering the fact that her association, NAGAFF had swept most of the available seats on the CRFFN board during the recent elections.

Chairman of NAGAFF Compliance Team , Alhaji Tanko Ibrahim who is a new entrant into the CRFFN board told news men what transpired at the meeting with the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi in Abuja, saying that Princess Chi Eze failed to speak up when the Minister asked if there was anyone contesting position on the board.

Consequently, he said the former executives of the CRFFN, including Chief Henry Njoku emerged unopposed.

According to Tanko, the Emergence of Tsanni Abubakar as Chairman and Henry Njoku as Vice, was done by consensus.

“There were 32 members present, when the Hon. Minister of Transport walked in and told us that he had other engagements for the day hence, he will not spend more than one minute with us. He then said that the status quo will remain, that Tsanni should remain as Chairman, we all agreed because we were in support of this.

Continuing, Tanko revealed that this was the consensus they reached before the meeting with Amaechi.

“We the NAGAFF people all agreed that we should support Tsanni Abubakar, ” he revealed.

On the Vice Chairman position, “it was only Princess Chi Ezeh that indicated interest from our own side to vie for this position. We asked her how prepared she was for the contest, she said she was ready but she didn’t say a word when the Vice Chairmanship position was mentioned at the meeting and the former Vice Chairman, Chief Henry Njoku was renominated and endorsed for that position”

“There is no issues here, it was an agreement by all of us, what we arrived at was what played out. Nobody opposed what the Minister said, that was exactly what happened, it was a popular decision before the minister left for another meeting as he told us earlier.” he said
