ANLCA Crisis: BOT Summons Townhall Meeting, Seeks Way Forward

The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has summoned a general meeting of all Chief Executive Officers and license owners of the association in order to find lasting solutions to the protracted leadership crisis that has engulfed the association since 2018.
Since the crisis lasted, ANLCA has been polarised, many members of ANLCA have suffered operational challenges, especially in their transactions with Nigeria Customs Service, Shipping Companies and Terminal Operators because they no longer have a common front and speak one voice.
The BOT have however said members operational challenges must be solved, appealing for suggestions on how to move forward from the crisis.
In a notice that was forwarded by the National Publicity Secretary of ANLCA, Mr Joe Sanni to all ANLCA members, this meeting would be a sequel to an earlier meeting the BOT held on Monday with Western Zone Chapters executives, elders and leaders.
The notice read “With the combined effects of Suits FHC/L/CS/599/2020 & FHC/L/CS/921/2020, and in view of Section 13, Subsection 4 (b), (c) & (d) of ANLCA’s Supreme Constitution 2008 and, in it’s determination to reinvigorate ANLCA, the Board of Trustees (BOT) of ANLCA had an unscheduled meeting for several hours with all Western Zone Chapters executives, elders and leaders of thought today -9/11/2020 in the offices of the Vice Chairman of the BOT – Chief Dennis Okafor”
“In order to start putting the building blocks together, it was resolved that a general meeting of the CEOs of all licensed Customs Agencies that are members of ANLCA on Wednesday, 18/11/2020”
“The meeting is to enable the BOT brief members on the genesis of the crisis, where we are now with evidences and the way forward, taking suggestions from members present”
“A committee has been set up to mobilize members/agencies’ CEOs to attend the general meeting to air their opinions and suggest ways to restart ANLCA again”
The ANLCA BOT called on members to assist in getting ANLCA rejuvenated to start solving members operational and welfare challenges.
