CRFFN: Why we Donated N6 million To Fight COVID-19

The Registrar of the Council for the Regulation of freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) Barr Samuel Nwakohu has said that the agency was concerned about the health of Nigerians, and the freight forwarding community in particular, and that this was why it has committed N6Million to fight the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Registrar also revealed that the CRFFN has set up a committee to curb the spread of Coronavirus at Nigerian ports.
Speaking with journalists on the sidelines of a stakeholders meeting held in Apapa at the weekend, Nwakohu said that out of the N6 million donation, a total of N2.5 million will go to the Federal Government, while the sun of N1.5 million will be given to the Lagos State government.
He said the management of the CRFFN would get sum of N1 million and the committee set up by the management to curb the spread of the virus at the Port will also get the sum of N1 million all in the quest to curb the COVID 19 Pandemic.
Nwakohwu further informed that he will be distributing free waters to all buses conveying freight forwarders to and from the Port , stating that water is an essential medicine especially during this period.
According to him “CRFFN has donated the sum of N6 million naira as part of it’s effort to curb the spread of the COVID-19 Pandemic
” Out of this N6 million, N2.5million goes to Federal Government, while N1.5 will go to the Lagos State Government and N1 million comes to the management of CRFFN, another N1 million goes to the committees of CRFFN, who are also on the field.
“And by tomorrow I will be putting water in all the buses, that moves freight forwarders to and from the Port as you know water is an essential medicine for the period we are in.
“So these are some of the things we are doing to make sure that the federal government realises it’s objective by leaving the port open” he said.
Speaking further Nwakohu said the primary aim of the government as it stand today is to look after the health of the citizen, and that CRFFN is committed to the same course.
