Seme Customs Decorates 33 Officers with New Ranks

The Seme Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has decorated 33  newly promoted officers of the command.


This is coming few weeks after the Comptroller General of Customs, Col Hameed Ali announced the promotion of senior officers of Customs. 


The decoration exercise which took place at the conference hall of the Joint Border Post, was done by the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Compt. Muhammed Uba Garba.

He pleaded with the newly promoted Officers not to take their promotions for granted but rather see such promotions as an avenue for greater responsibilities and efficiency for agency as well as their fatherland.


While congratulating the just promoted and highly elated Officers, the CAC, who on his own was full of praises for his boss, the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Col.Hameed Ali (Rtd.), thanked him for his support, encouragement as well as boasting the morale of Officers through such promotion which normally comes on annual basis.


Comptroller Uba equally urged the newly promoted Officers to live by example by asking God to give them the grace to be more responsible than ever while as well getting more committed to the task ahead.


According to a press release by the Command which was signed by Hussaini Abdullahi Onawo, the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), the 33 Officers in all were of different ranks, for instance, four Chief Superintendents of Customs who were promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller.

One Superintendent was elevated to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Customs. Also five others were moved from Assistant Superintendent 1 to Deputy Superintendent of Customs, while fourteen Officers and seven Officers were promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Customs 1 and Inspector of Customs to Assistant Superintendent of Customs 1 respectively.
