The Chairman of the board of Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) Alhaji Tsanni Abubakar has said that his absence at the 20th year celebration of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) was not intentional.

Founder of NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam had at the event on Tuesday blasted the CRFFN Chairman, saying that NAGAFF was too big an organization for Tsanni to send a representation.

But in a swift reaction, the CRFFN Chairman through one of his aids, Miftahu Ya’u, a member of freight forwarders investigation panel said he was attending the ground breaking ceremony of the transportation university cited in Daura, his home town in Katsina State.

The ground breaking ceremony was done by President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday.

The statement sent to DAILY TREND NEWS reads “The The attention of the Council for the  Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria has been drawn over a statement credited to the Founder of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), (DR) Boniface Aniebonam over the physical absence of its chairman at the Annual Anniversary of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) that took place at Lagos recently”

“Although, the founder is kind enough to have disclosed to the media of the Council Chairman high-powered delegation to the event, is not enough to allow the matter to go without letting the general public know more about the issue.”

“Recall that the Nagaff Anniversary had a coincidence with the historic groundbreaking ceremony for the N18bn Transportation University at Daura, the home state of the CRFFN Council Chairman Alhaji Abubakar Tsanni”

“The chairman had to be present at the event of which president Muhammad Buhari and Transportation Minister RT. Hon. Chibueke Rotimi Amaechi also attended. “

“It is however, surprising, despite the high-powered delegation under Hon. Austin Kelly, member of the Governing Council who represented the council chairman at the event, instead of appreciating the noble gesture of strong respect the council chairman have for the association, the physical absence of the chairman was misinterpreted and perceived as  intentional by the founder of NAGAFF whose image the Council hold in high esteem”

“The founder should be reminded that the CRFFN Chairman was the one that chaired last year anniversary of the association held at Lagos and had the same intention of attending this year’s event had the event didn’t coincided with the national event of inauguration of the Transportation University at Daura as mentioned earlier”

“For these reasons, the NAGAFF founder is hereby advised as a leader to make statements that will further the smooth and mutual working relationship between the council and the association”

“The chairman wishes to once again on behalf of the Governing Council congratulates the association at 20 years of achievements and prayed for its attainments of greater heights in the future”
