AMATO Thanks Customs CG Adeniyi for Release of Trapped Trucks At Zarmak Bonded Terminal, Mile 2
The Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO) has commended the Comptroller-General of Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi for his intervention in a matter which has led to the release of their members trucks seized inside a bonded terminal; Zarmak Bonded Terminal, Mile 2, Lagos.
In a statement sent to DAILY TREND, the National Secretary of AMATO, Mr Mohammed Bala Sanni said the intervention of the CGC has prevented the Truckers from incurring financial losses due to continuous detention of their trucks.
“We express our profound gratitude to the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Mr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for his prompt and compassionate intervention that led to the gracious release of our members’ trucks that were locked at the Zarmak Bonded Terminal, Mile 2, Lagos.
“This timely action has brought immense relief to our affected members, prevented further financial losses, and reaffirmed the Nigeria Customs Service’s commitment to promoting trade facilitation, ease of doing business, and constructive engagement with stakeholders in the maritime and logistics industry.
“We also extend our sincere appreciation to the National President of AMATO, Chief Remi Ogungbemi, whose exemplary leadership, unwavering commitment, and relentless efforts were instrumental in engaging the relevant authorities and ensuring a successful resolution of the matter.
“His dedication to protecting the interests and welfare of maritime truck owners continues to inspire confidence among our members.
“AMATO remains committed to sustaining a cordial working relationship with the Nigeria Customs Service and all relevant government agencies in advancing a safe, efficient, and prosperous maritime transport sector” the statement read.
