Rt Hon Ali Isa, the former minority whip of the House of Representatives, has been appointed chairperson of the House Committee on Shipping Services, replacing Abdulsamad Dasuki, who recently emerged as deputy minority leader.
Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Abbas Tajudeen disclosed the adjustments recently.
Hon. Ali Isa represents the Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency of Gombe State in the Nigerian House of Representatives.
Speaker Abbas Tajudeen disclosed that the vacancies created by the appointment of some lawmakers into new minority leadership positions necessitated the reconstitution of affected committees.
The House Committee on Shipping Services in Nigeria primarily oversees the operations and economic regulatory functions of key maritime bodies, most notably the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) as the port economic regulator, alongside broader interactions with key stakeholders.
