ANLCA Tin Can Chairman Applauds Customs CG for Resolving Vehicle Clearance Issues

Prince Olawale Mathew Cole, Chairman of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Tin Can Island Chapter, has praised the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for his timely intervention in resolving a dispute that was hindering the clearance of vehicles at the port.
Speaking to journalists, Prince Cole confirmed that thanks to the CG’s intervention, all “status quo” issues have been successfully resolved, allowing agents to resume normal operations.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank the CG, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for his intervention. He has saved our importers from paying massive demurrage fees and has truly demonstrated his commitment to trade facilitation.”
Cole explained that the dispute had created a significant backlog, with some importers facing demurrage charges of over 2 million Naira on a single container.
“The inflation is just too much right now, and this situation was a huge burden for our members and their clients,” he added.
The chairman also extended his appreciation to the Tin Can Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Frank Onyeka, for his leadership and collaboration throughout the process.
“The CG’s resolution has allowed us to clear the backlog and resume business as usual. We are grateful for the support from both the Customs management at Tin Can and the Comptroller-General. Together, we can continue to improve our processes and serve the nation better.” the popular ANLCA Chairman concluded
