MARAN removes Anya Njoku as President, appoints Gboyega Oni Caretaker Chairman

Foremost maritime press association, Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has removed Mr Anya Njoku, President, and other members of his executive.
The association has appointed a Caretaker Committee to manage its affairs under the leadership of Mr Gboyega Oni of PortNews as Chairman,Pearl Nwagma as Secretary and Fabian Anawo of FRCN as Financial Secretary.

At an extraordinary meeting of the association which held on Thursday, Anya Njoku and his entire executive members were relieved of the positions following intractable allegations of flouting the association’ supreme constitution.
The association’s 7-Man Ethics and Disciplinary Committee headed by Mr John Iwori in its report recommended the disbandment of the Anya Njoku executive.
This was subsequently approved by the MARAN Congress and appointed the Caretaker Committee which the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee handed ove the affairs of the association to.
In his acceptance speech, Gboyega Oni promised members that the glory of MARAN, the over 30-years old beat association, would be restored, even as he assured all members of sense of belonging.
