Bunu Felicitates MWUN BoT Chairman Adeyanju on Birthday Today
The President-General of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, has congratulated his predecessor and current Chairman of the Union’s Board of Trustees (BoT), Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, on his birthday today, October 1, which coincides with Nigeria’s Independence Day.
Describing Adeyanju as an astute labour leader and a quintessential statesman, Bunu said his wealth of experience in labour matters has shaped the Nigerian workforce and its administration, and has kept him relevant in the nation’s affairs.
The Ijaw-born labour activist and maritime administrator said Adeyanju’s depth of knowledge as a leader and administrator cannot be overlooked. He added that he remains one of his biggest admirers, having learned a great deal from his administrative skills, particularly in labour matters.
Bunu noted that Adeyanju, as a former PG, remains a source of guidance in his day-to-day running of the Union, adding that he imparted knowledge that has advanced him further than he ever expected in leading the affairs of the Union.
He also praised his team of executives as productive and dedicated, acknowledging that Adeyanju left behind capable and proactive administrators whose capacity is not in doubt and who are taking the Union to greater heights.
Bunu described Adeyanju as a thoroughbred administrator worthy of emulation, and urged him to keep flowing in the same rhythm as his birthday, which marked Nigeria’s freedom.
He thanked Adeyanju for the enduring legacy he left behind, assuring him that he and his executives remain grateful and are determined to keep the flag flying for a more prosperous and united Union.
Bunu said he and his executives will continue to remember the Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), who is also Vice President of the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF), London, for his meritorious service to the Union, as he wished him a happy and prosperous birthday.
