Smooth Port Operations at Risk as NRS Switches to REV360 — ANLCA

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) is set to migrate to its new digital tax platform, REV360, on May 1, as freight forwarders are being urged to update their accounts ahead of the transition or risk being unable to process critical business documents.

The alert was issued by the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) through the Publicity Secretary of the Tin Can Island Port Chapter, Chief Onome Joy Monije, on behalf of the association’s chapter Chairman, Prince Olawale Cole.

The association urged members to take immediate steps to create an Individual Tax Pro Max account on the new platform.

According to the statement, the Individual Tax Pro Max will henceforth be the only recognised and acceptable means of processing and making payments for the procurement of business documents, effectively ending the era of using one-time Tax Identification Numbers (TIN) for payment transactions.

“The era of using one-time TIN to process our payments is over,” the statement read.

Freight forwarders and other port community stakeholders are advised to create their Individual Tax Pro Max accounts ahead of the May 1 migration to ensure seamless processing of shipping, terminal, and customs duty payments on the new REV360 platform.

ANLCA stressed that ignorance would not be accepted as an excuse for non-compliance, urging members to act promptly in the interest of ease of doing business at the ports.
