MWUN In Sad Mood As Comrade Chris Idagbonre Dies
Comrade Chris Idagbonre
Comrade Chris Eromosele Idagbonre of the Maritme Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has died after a brief illness.
Comrade Chris was a Vice President-General (VPG) of the Union until his retirement in 2025 after his meritorious service for more than 25 years.
Comrade Chris before his glorious retirement was a pragmatic Trade Unionist, whose career started from the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in Lagos, and was of the NPA Branch of the Maritme Workers’ Union of Nigeria, where he had unblemished track record of service.
According to a statement issued on Monday by Comrade John-Kennedy Ikemefuna, the spokesman of MWUN, “He was a committed executive member of the Union with passion for Labour Matters with good heart for humanity, his contemporaries, colleagues, and members of the Union; even the President -General of the Maritme Workers’ Union of Nigeria, Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, attested to his selfless service to the Union. Comrade Bunu also says of Chris, as that man one can always thinker with in terms of conflict resolution while in the Union”
“His funeral arrangements will be announced later by his immediate family as the Union pray that his gentle soul rest in perfect peace”
