ANLCA Secures TICT Terminal Demurrage Waivers for Members At Tin Can Port

Fresh indications have emerged that the Tin Can Island Port chapter of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has secured a critical demurrage waiver for clearing agents as regards delays experienced in positioning of containers by the terminal operator; Tin Can Island Container Terminal (TICT)
At a meeting between the ANLCA Tin-Can Executives led by its Chairman, Prince Olawale Cole, with the Management of TICT Terminal led by its Customer Care Manager on Thursday, the association lamented delays being experienced by clearing agents in getting their containers positioned for examination for the past two weeks.
In a statement issued at the end of the closed door meeting by the Publicity Secretary of the chapter, Onome Joy, the association stated that TICT has agreed to grant waiver to all clearing agents on containers not positioned after 48hrs of booking.
The chapter spokesperson said “After much deliberation the management of TICT agreed they have an internal arrangement upgrading in the terminal which is causing delay to positioning containers. Our Chairman demanded for waiver for All Stakeholders, which the Management of TICT have granted.
“Containers not positioned after 48hrs of booking, will be “Waived” from demurrage.
“All concerned Stakeholders should take advantage of this giant stride by the Tincan Executive’s led by his Chairman, for fast implementation”
