ANLCA Leadership Visits Grimaldi Shipping, Laments Uncondusive Environment of Members at PTML Terminal

The National President of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) Emenike Nwokeoji has expressed displeasure at the uncondusive environment his members are operating at the PTML Chapter.

The Association have also requested for an increase in the number of access cards being issued by the terminal operator, in order to facilitate smoother operational processes.

The ANLCA President stated this on Wednesday 26th March 2025 when he led his National Executive Committee (NECOM) on a Chapter Executives introduction visit to the Managing Director of Grimaldi Shipping, operators of the Port and Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML), Mr Ascanio Russo.

The team also visited the Customs Area Comptroller, PTML Command, Comptroller Tenny Mankini Daniyan, and his management team.

Apparently not happy with the makeshift secretariat operated by the PTML Chapter of the association, Emenike and the National Executives of the association appealed to PTML Terminal to provide a secretariat space for members to operate.

According to a statement issued by the former National Publicity Secretary of the association, Joe Sanni, the PTML Terminal boss has subsequently assured that management of Grimaldi will consider the request in due course.

“The National President was not happy at the makeshift secretariat from where the Chapter operates and challenged the EXCO to work hard towards getting a befitting Secretariat.

“The National President also told members to always report whatever challenges they may encounter during the delivery of their clients’ cargoes to the Chapter Executives, who were formally introduced to the members.

“The National President and his entourage thereafter left to visit Grimaldi Shipping lines management led by the MD/CEO – Mr Ascanio Russo, with Tunde Keshinro and Chioma.

“After formal introductions, the National President presented the newly elected Chapter Executives and sought for the cooperation of Grimaldi-PTML to make the operations of members worth the while in the Company.

“The NP also pleaded with the management to consider providing a space for the Chapter to use as it Secretariat. To this request, Russo threw a look at Mr Tunde Keshinro and Chioma to seek their thoughts on the issue, after which he immediately responded that management of Grimaldi will consider the request in due course.

“Members requested an increase in the number of access cards provided by Grimaldi to facilitate smoother operational processes.

“Concerns were raised regarding the escalating costs of clearing goods at PTML, particularly with the involvement of the Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service”

On the entourage of the President were the National Vice President – Prince Olusegun Oduntan, National Secretary – Elder Olumide Fakanlu, National Publicity Secretary – Emmanuel Onyeme, Zonal Coordinator West – Alhaji Femi Anifowose and the Zonal Secretary – Alhaji Idowu Owoade.

On his part, Comptroller of PTML Customs, Compt Tenny Mankini Daniyan assured the ANLCA team and its members operating in the Command of maximum cooperation.

He commended the new Executives of haven been very cooperative since his arrival at the Command, promising to improve on the synergy that already exists between them and his Command.
