Compt Olomu Partners AIG Maritime Police on Revenue Generation, Security At Apapa Port

The Customs Area Controller, Apapa Command, Compt Babatunde Olomu has called for partnership and collaboration with the Maritime Police Command in strengthening revenue collection and security of the port.

In a courtesy visit to the AIG Maritime, Garba Musa Yusuf in Obalende Lagos, Compt Olomu welcomed the Police Chief, even as he stressed the need for unhindered exit of cargoes from the port system.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Okoi Arikpo, Compt Olomu said “The visit was to further the existing relationship between the maritime police force and the customs, and at the same time to form collaboration and synergy in easy coverage of the port environment, and also to welcome the AIG to Lagos and the Command”

AIG Garba Musa Yusuf expressed delight at the visit by the customs boss and his team, even as he stressed that the purpose of Police security in the port environment is to enable free flow of revenue generation that must not be hindered by any criminal elements around the port.

“The AIG said he was ready to support the customs in any capacity and that all illegality should be reported on time for urgent attention” the statement by ASP Arikpo concluded.
