The Assistant Inspector General of Police , Maritime Command , AIG Musa Yusuf Garba has tasked officers and men under his watch to shun corruption and uphold professionalism in the line of duty

AIG Garba who gave the charge during his maiden lecture with personnel of the command in Lagos on Thursday warned them to desist from aiding and abetting of economic saboteurs in port operations.

According to a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Okoi Arikpo on Friday, the AIG during the lecture insisted that cooperation with maritime stakeholders would be sustained for the promotion of trade facilitation at the seaports , even as he frowned at any form of corrupt tendencies by personnel.

He also called on officers and men of the command to conduct themselves in a manner that will portray the image of the force in good light; mostly as it concerns the maritime industry.

He charged personnel to be discipline, fair and firm in the discharge of their duties, while assuring stakeholders that investigations would be duly discharged whenever the need arises.

The AIG further affirmed regular stakeholders engagement in the maritime industry as part of efforts to ensure seamless port operations.
