ANLCA Celebrates Comptrollers Olomu, Nnadi for Excellence in Customs Leadership

The Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has extended heartfelt congratulations to Comptrollers Babatunde Olomu and Dera Nnadi, the respective heads of the Apapa and Tin Can Island Customs Commands, for their exceptional achievements recognized at the Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) Award Night.

The prestigious event, held on November 29, honored Comptroller Olomu as the “Best Controller of the Year,” complemented by two additional awards for outstanding revenue collection and excellence. Similarly, Comptroller Nnadi was celebrated for his distinctive performance and excellence in workplace transformation.

As leaders of the two most significant revenue-generating commands within the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), the achievements of Comptrollers Olomu and Nnadi underscore their dedication and strategic acumen in boosting Nigeria’s customs operations.

In a statement issued by ANLCA Secretary Olumide Fakanlu, the association lauded the awards as well-deserved and commended both officers for their remarkable leadership.

The ANLCA statement highlighted Comptroller Olomu’s groundbreaking accomplishments at the Apapa Command, where he led the team to surpass the N2 trillion revenue mark by November 20, 2024.

“Comptroller Olomu’s leadership has set a new benchmark for revenue generation at Apapa Command. This is a demonstration of exceptional efficiency,” the statement noted. “Achieving this milestone, particularly during a period of reduced trade volumes, is nothing short of remarkable.”

Equally commendable is Comptroller Nnadi’s transformative impact at the Tin Can Island Command. Under his leadership, the command reached the N1 trillion revenue mark and undertook a significant overhaul of its administrative building, improving workplace conditions for staff.

“Comptroller Nnadi’s transformative leadership has breathed new life into Tin Can Island Port, setting new standards for efficiency and revenue generation,” the statement continued. “His unwavering commitment to combating illicit trade has resulted in notable seizures of illicit drugs and arms.”

ANLCA also acknowledged the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adewale, for his commitment to celebrating excellence within the NCS. The association emphasized that recognizing the achievements of officers like Comptrollers Olomu and Nnadi serves as motivation for others to strive for excellence.
