Customs Begin Inspection of Clearing Agents Licenses, Bonded Terminals for 2025 Operations

The Nigeria Customs Service on Monday 21st October 2024 commenced inspection of operational licenses of clearing agents, as well as bonded terminal operators with a view renew them for 2025 operations.

According to the Assistant Comptroller General in charged of Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation, ACG Timi Bomodi, a team of customs officers have been detached to conduct the exercise from Monday 21st October to Friday 8th November, 2024 for Zone A, while Zone B would be done Monday 21st October to Friday 1st November, 2024 for Zones B and C.

In a letter addressed to the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) dated 3rd of October 2024, ACG Bomodi warned that “Only agencies and bonded terminals inspected and found compliant will be issued a Certificate of Inspection allowing them to renew their operational license for the year 2025”

Meanwhile, the National Publicity Secretary of ANLCA, Emmanuel Onyeme, said the Inspection exercise would commence properly on Tuesday in Lagos, even as he urged members of the association to take advantage and renew their operational licenses.

He said that the Inspection would take place at the following venues;

1. Apapa chapter
24 BURM ROAD, APAPA.

2. Airport Chapter
ANLCA AIRPORT CHAPTER’S SECRETARIAT.
MMIA CARGO.

3. Tin Can Island Port Chapter
NPA COMMERCIAL COMPLEX BUILDING TIN CAN ISLAND, NATIONAL.

“This information is for those who have customs operational licenses , including those that have operational licenses that have not renewed for some years but have an intention of doing that for the year 2025” he said
