AMATO Lagos Chairman, Zangalo Congratulates Comrade Adeyanju on His Election as Vice President, ITF Global

The Lagos State Chairman of the Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO) Alhaji Lukman Shittu Zangalo has congratulated the President General of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) Comrade Adewale Adeyanju on his election as the Vice President of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) Global.

Comrade Adeyanju was at the weekend confirmed as Vice President, ITF Global, Executive Board Member and Chairman ITF African Region at the 2024 African Regional Conference in Marrakesh Morocco.
The ratification was done by over 2000 delegates representing 150 countries across the globe.

In a congratulatory message, Zangalo described Comrade Adeyanju’s new positions as a honor well deserved, and a testimonial of his hardwork and commitment to the welfare of Nigerian workers, expecially in the maritime sector, and nationally as the Deputy President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC)

“We have known you to be a man of tested integrity, and it is no supprise that the International community have now realised what a great export that you are to this country.

“We are very confident that your new position will be used judiciously to improve the lives of workers and fostering development of the business environment on Nigeria and Africa as a whole” Zangalo stated.

As Vice President of the global body, Prince Adeyanju will help steer the organization’s, strategic direction, assuring that the voices of transport workers are globally given attention.

Moreso, as an Executive Board Member, it puts him also at a vantage position in taking critical decisions, while his Chairmanship position in ITF African Region will reinforce his commitment to addressing the dynamic challenges faced by African Transport Workers and to furthering the cause of the continent’s development.
