NPA, NIMASA, NIWA Stimulates Secondary School Pupils with Scholarship, Cash Gifts, Laptops At 2024 World Maritime Day Celebration

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) as well as the National Island Waterways Authority (NIWA) on Thursday presented cash gifts, awards and scholarships to secondary school students from various schools who performed excellently in essay writing with the topic; “Navigating the Future; Safely First” towards the 2024 World Maritime Day celebration.
The NPA presented Michael Esther Chinyere who came third in the competition from Randle Secondary School with a cash prize of N300,000 and a laptop. While the second position winner, Abbas Abdullramon from Okesuna High School received N500,000, an award and a laptop.
The first position and overall best writer was Miss Ada Ozuem from Stepfield Schools and she clinched N800,000 cash prize, an award plaque and a laptop.
The NPA also presented consolation prices of N100,000 each to seven other winners from various schools.
NIWA on its part also presented cash gifts as well as mouth watering packages to deserving students from other schools.
The highpoint of the award presentation was to Master David Joshua, a student of the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN Oron) Akwa Ibom State who got a N500,000 cash price from NIMASA and a scholarship from the Rector of the Academy, Commodore Duja Effedua.
