ANLCA BoT Elections: ASECO Releases Timetable, Sets Election for September 12th

The Association Electoral Committee (ASECO) of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has released the timetable for the upcoming Board of Trustees (BoT) elections. According to a memo dated September 2, 2024, the election is scheduled to take place on September 12, 2024, across the three ANLCA zones: West, East, and North.

DAILY TREND correspondent also sited the official voters list for the election comprising of about 680 companies and practicing licences.

In preparation for the elections, ASECO has outlined several key dates for ANLCA members:

• Screening of Candidates: This will take place on September 9, 2024, to ensure that all candidates meet the required criteria to run for the BoT positions.

• Publication of Final Candidate List: On September 10, 2024, ASECO will release the final list of candidates who are eligible to participate in the election.

• Publication of Final Voters List: Also set for September 10, 2024, ASECO will publish the list of eligible voters.

• Submission of Petitions: Members who have concerns or complaints about the election process or the candidates will have the opportunity to submit petitions on September 10, 2024.

The ASECO memo, signed by Chairman Elochukwu Obiora and Secretary Tope Fatimilehin, expressed appreciation for the members’ cooperation and understanding as the association moves towards a successful election process.

ANLCA members are encouraged to participate actively in the election process to ensure a transparent and fair outcome.
