Customs Rejigs Management Team, Bomodi, Salefu Made Assistant Comptroller Generals

In a strategic move to enhance service delivery, the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has appointed new management members in an acting capacity following the retirement of several senior officials.

The announcement, made by the National Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Abdullahi Maiwada, reflects the agency’s commitment to maintaining high standards of leadership and performance.

The CGC outlined the new appointments and redeployment of key officers to critical positions within the Customs Service:

• BM Jibo has been appointed as the Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) of Finance Administration and Technical Services (FATS).

• OA Alajogun will serve as the Acting DCG for Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation (EI&I).

• IG Umar has taken the role of Acting Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) at the Headquarters.

• OA Salefu is the new Acting ACG for Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC).

• BA Makinde will serve as the Acting ACG for Human Resource Development (HRD).

• T Bomodi has been appointed as the Acting ACG for Enforcement, Inspection, and Investigation (EI&I).

“The appointment of these officers is a testament to their exemplary service and dedication to the Nigeria Customs Service,” said Maiwada.

“The NCS remains committed to providing strategic leadership that ensures effective and efficient service delivery for optimum performance.”

The CGC emphasized the importance of these appointments in driving the service’s core mandates, including revenue generation, suppression of smuggling, and trade facilitation.

“These appointments are not just about filling positions; they are about entrusting dedicated officers with the responsibility to lead and drive our mission forward,” stated Adeniyi.

He continued, “We are committed to building a Customs Service that not only meets but exceeds expectations in terms of service delivery and operational excellence. The newly appointed officers are expected to redouble their efforts and bring fresh perspectives to their roles.”

In his address, the CGC also took the time to thank the retiring members of the management team for their years of dedicated service. “Their contributions have been invaluable, and their legacy of commitment and excellence sets a high bar for those who follow,” Adeniyi noted.

He extended his congratulations to the newly appointed officers and encouraged them to uphold the standards set by their predecessors.

“As we move forward, I urge all newly appointed officers to continue the legacy of hard work and dedication. Your role is crucial in achieving our mission and ensuring that the NCS remains a key player in national economic development,” he added.
