ASECO Shifts BOT Election Timetable, As Fresh 700 Licenses Bombard ANLCA Secretariat

There are indications that the Association Electoral Committee (ASECO) of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) may have been overwhelmed by the 700 Licenses submitted at the National Secretariat against the 300 expected Licenses for the upcoming Board of Trustees (BOT) elections.

Our correspondent reports that the ANLCA Board of Trustees election is usually conducted by Annual General Meeting (AGM) where all licensed members would be allowed to vote their BOT leaders.

In a letter to all ANLCA members on Tuesday 23rd of July 2024, Chairman of ASECO, Elochukwu Obiora noted that the timetable of the elections earlier published would now be changed.

Obiora however said that all activities concerning purchasing and submission of Nomination Forms for the BOT elections have all been successfully concluded.

The memo obtained exclusively by DAILY TREND reads “Esteemed professional colleagues, The above refers. ASECO wishes to announce that activities concerning purchasing and submission of Nomination Forms have been successfully concluded.

“The commission hereby wishes to subsequently vary the already published TIMETABLE in order to verify the over 700 licenses received from the National Secretariat in the recent MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION EXERCISE against the previously budgeted 300 to 350 Corporate member’s Licenses amongst other reasons.

“A new adjusted timetable will be released as soon as possible”
