CRFFN Owing Workers Six Month Salary, As MWUN President General, Comrade Adeyanju Intervenes

Fresh indications have emerged that the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) have been owing its Workers salaries for the past six months and unable to cater for itself following the Agency’s removal from Federal Government budgetary allocation.

This indication came to fore when the President General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) under the leadership of Comrade Adewale Adeyanju in conjunction with his national executive officers recently paid a courtesy visit to the Council headquarters in Marina Lagos.

Acting Registrar of the CRFFN, Mrs Chinyere Uromta explained that this was one of the major reasons why Workers under the agency recently ran to MWUN to seek refuge and help under the Shipping, Clearing & Forwarding Agencies Workers Branch of the union.

Uromta intimated the MWUN delegation on the constitution of a technical Committee on Identification Of challenges militating against efficient service delivery by the Council.

In response to all the enumerated challenges, Comrade Adeyanju thanked the Registrar for her resilience and commitment to duty in carrying out her obligations in the face of  difficulty and the biting challenges as explained.

Adeyanju promised to quickly wave into the matter by engaging with the government and all the necessary revenue generating agencies and stakeholders in the Maritime sector.

According to him, this would further help to effectively nip in the board, the bottleneck militating against the CRFFN  core obligations.
