Asu Beks at 70: Goodluck Jonathan Congratulates Doyen of Nigeria’s Maritime Journalism

Nigeria’s former President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan has congratulated Elder Asu Beks, a doyen of Nigeria’s maritime journalism as he celebrates his 70th birthday today.

In a letter dated 9th of January 2024, the former President acknowledged Elder Beks contributions towards the Niger Delta region and to Nigeria at large.

“I join your family. friends, professional colleagues and other wellwishers to Congratulate you on the occasion of your 70th birthday.

“You are a patriot who has, over the years, made considerable contributions to the development of our country through your tireless pursuit of truth, equity and accountability.

“As a journalist, you have significantly impacted the lives of many people and shown commitment to the task of nation building, genuinely lending your efforts towards the improvement of the maritime sector and the overall growth of our economy.

“As you celebrate this milestone, | pray for peace, joy, long life and the strength to carry on with your efforts towards the development of Bayelsa State, the Niger Delta region and our nation.

“On behalf of my family, i wish you a happy birthday” The message read

The birthday party is expected to hold today at De-Dove Event Centre, Festac Town, Lagos.
