The Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) Dr Bashir Jamoh has expressed sadness at the passing of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, describing him as a man that championed the cause of the common man during his lifetime.
Jamoh said “I received with rude shock the news of the demise of my dear brother and friend Arakurin Rotimi Akeredolu.
“Though I am aware you have been battling with the illness, I had hoped you would overcome the challenge.
“I recall our last meeting earlier this year when you joined me during my installation as the Baatona of AKURE Kingdom. Little did I know that that would be our last meeting.
“From your tenure as the chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association to your role as the chairman of the South West Governors Forum and as two-term Governor of Ondo State, you continuously championed the cause of justice, equity, fairness, and the upliftment of the common man.
“My condolences to the acting Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the family of Arakurin Akereledolu, and the good people of Ondo State”
