Maritime Journalist, Hope Ovriri Bags PhD at University of Lagos

Maritime journalist and Publisher of One Page Africa, Dr Hope Ovriri has officially bagged a Doctorate Degree at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) after she successfully defended her thesis on Thursday.
Dr Ovriri successfully defended her PhD project; ‘Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Message Utilisation Among Mothers of Under-five Children in Lagos Slums.’
Recall that Dr Ovriri had five months ago won the 3-Minutes Thesis (3MT) competition, a maiden edition organised by the University of Lagos (UNILAG) for PhD students.
The global competition was organized by The Institute of African and Diaspora Studies (IADS), University of Lagos as part of weeklong activities to mark 2023 Nelson Mandela Week in partnership with the South African Consulate in Lagos.
Dr Ovriri, representing the UNILAG Mass Communication Alumni Association (UMCAA) had won the competition ahead of candidates from other African countries.
