Christmas Holidays: TICT Terminal Says Port Activities Open 24Hours, Including Weekends

TICT Terminal, one of the container terminals at the Tin Can Island Port of Lagos has said that its operations are going to be available 24hours for all port users, not minding the Christmas Holidays on 25th and 26th December.
The terminal has also written the Customs Area Controller of Nigerian Customs Services
Tin can Island Customs command, asking for its officers to be stationed at the port throughout the Holidays.
In a letter to the Customs Command dated 22nd of December, 2023 signed by Arisekola Saka, Public Affairs Manager of TICT, a copy of which was sighted by DAILY TREND, the terminal said “Please be informed that Federal Government has declared Monday December 25 and 26 as Public holiday however on this day TICT will be open to work on above date.
“This is in line with the Government directive that Port be open to 24/7, Public holidays and weekend inclusive.
“On above mentioned day, we will carry out normal Portside and landside operations.
“This includes discharging and loading of vessels, deliveries to customers who want to take advantage of light traffic experienced during such holiday.
“Our gates will be opened to receive empty and exports containers and examination of containers if customers booking request demands we do so.
“We therefore request officers be posted to both terminal and exit gate to enhance smooth operation on this day”
