Glits and Glamour At The OMIS 2023 As Shippers Council’s PSTT Coordinator, Fadipe, Others Bag Awards

The Maritime and Offshore Awards; The OMIS held on Saturday at the prestigious Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island Lagos and it was full of glitz and glamour where eminent maritime industry personalities where bestowed various Awards for their excellent contributions to the sector.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, Dr Magdalene Ajani bagged the OMIS Guardian Angel Award for exceeding expectations to improve the maritime sector through policy formulations or advancing quality representation in the sector.

National Coordinator of Port Standing Task Team (PSTT) Comrade Moses Olayemi Fadipe and the former Lagos Port Manager of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Mrs Bola Olotu both received OMIS Industry Merit Award.

The Award is in recognition of their various contributions to the maritime sector. There were 85 entries received for this award category, but only the two scale through.

The OMIS lifetime achievement awards was presented to Mrs Chinwe Ezenwa and Dr McGeorge Onyung, while the OMIS Posthumous Award was given to Late Mrs Margaret Orakwusi.

Other maritime creme-de-la-creme who clinched Awards at the OMIS include; Mr Emmanuel Maiguwa, Capt Sunday Umoren, Ronke Kosoko, Irogama Ogbeifun.
