11-YEARS AFTER: Customs Revive CG Annual Conference, As ANLCA Sets for BOT Elections

Eleven years after the conference was last held, there are indications that the Nigeria Customs Service is set to revive its annual Comptroller General Conference.
This was fallout of a crucial meeting held between the management of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and the leadership of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) at Customs Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday.
The Comptroller General conference was last held 2012 in Katsina.
The meeting also resolved that the much expected election into the Board of Trustees (BOT) of ANLCA would hold in November 2023.
The Customs management has also stated that clearing agents licenses doing bad jobs will no longer be renewed and that all renewed licenses would be viewed in a platform for all to see.
Also, active and performing licenses would remain on top of the viewing portal of the Customs service all times, while inactive licenses will be relegated to d background.
