The Lagos State Monitorng Task Force has stormed the Mile -2 expressway, even as it has commenced destruction of illegal structures erected by traders on the access.

This is in line with the state government’s zero tolerance to the menace of street trading and illicit display of goods on walkways, kerbs, and rail tracks across the State.

Recall that in past weeks, the Task Force has carried out an extensive raid of recalcitrant street vendors across strategic areas and rail tracks in the Metropolis.

Eyewitnesses at the ongoing sanitation exercise on Thursday informed DAILY TREND that the Monitoring Task Force is currently destroying and burning illegal commercial structures at First Gate, Festac Town Lagos.

Apparently caught unawares, the affected traders were seen wailing and lamenting, some trying to see if they can recover few things while some were allegedly being beaten.

  1. They should do the same to okada riders who block all road junctions in the LGAs they are permitted to operate. Looks like they have become untouchable.

  2. I really don’t understand why the State allow things to degenerate to this level before waking from deepest slumber ever. Amuwo, Festac and it’s environ had suddenly became the biggest slum in west Africa with permission to desecrate the environment at will
