According to reliable sources in the service, the project has spanned over 18-years, as it was started by former Comptroller General Hamman Bello, but most of the construction works was done by former Comptroller General, Abdulahi Inde Dikko.

“The major work was done by Dikko, he actually thought he could finish it and commission it, but time ran out. He was developing other projects at the same time, including the customs quarters among others” the source said

The project has however been completed by Col Hameed Ali (rtd) even as the customs headquarters is now set to be moved to its new location.

The movement according to inside sources would however be in phases, adding that there is a movement plan being developed by the service.

There are also considerations that the old office at Wuse Zone 3 Abuja would now be used as PAAR office, enforcement and others.
