The Ndigboamaka Progressive Markets Association, the umbrella body of major market Associations in lagos has elected Comrade Chinedu Ukatu as its new president and 13 others that would pilot the affairs of association for the next three years.

Delivering his acceptance speech shortly after the official swearing in of all the elected members into various offices, Comrade Chinedu Ukatu commended the electoral officers for conducting a peaceful, free and fair election.

The election took place at the National Secretariat of the association in Amuwo Odofin Lagos and the result was accepted by over 95% of the members.

Comrade Ukatu won with a simple majority votes cast, while his opponent, Ambassador Charles Okafor came second.

Speaking to newsmen, Comrade Ukatu assured that the new executives will hit the ground running in no distance time, and that he will deliver on all his campaign promises.

Comrade Ukatu who is a member of Lagos State Market Advisory Council said “All sector of the various part of Nigeria will soon know that there’s an association called Ndigboamaka. l will make sure we have representatives at Federal government level who will protect the interest of the traders . We are going to be Among the policy makers”.

Earlier in his speech the outgoing President of NIdigoamaka, Chief Dr Jude Ringo Okeke while expressing his gratitude for the opportunity given to him to serve, said he has full confidence in the new President, haven served as his secretary.

He urged all other elected members to cooperate with Comrade Chinedu led executive, stressing that they shouldn’t abandon the Secretariat for the President only.

Other members elected into various offices are; Nze Marcel Okezue Vice President .
Chief Tony Okeke as Secretary General, Mr Africanus Ogudoro as Assistant Secretary General, Mr Clement Molokwu as Financial Secretary, Mr. Charles Okafor as Treasurer, Comr. Obinna
Obichukwu as P.R.O, Mr Marcel Ozonweke as Assistant P.R.O, Mr Ejike Metu as Organizing Secretary, Mr. Augustine Omenyi as Chief Welfare .

Mrs Ifeoma Azike won as Welfare, Mr.Ezekonna Rufus as Director of Contact & Mobilization, Mr Ifediora Ifesimeke as Chief Provost, and Mr Arinze Egwuatu as Provost.

The new Executives were immediately sworn in by the legal Adviser, Barr Ewelaku.

The President, Comrade Ukatu appointed 2 Zonal Cordinators , Namely Hon Vincent Ikwueze who will be Zonal Cordinator for Zone 2 which comprises Alaba Intl market and environ. Mr Dennis Igboanugo who will be the Zonal cordinator for Zone 3 been Agric Coker / abule ado/ odun ade/ Coker and environs.
