The Chief Executive Officer of SIFAX Group, Dr Taiwo Afolabi has given out his daughter, Mariam Afolabi in marriage to her beau; Qudus Badmus, in wedding celebration that shook Lagos to its very pores last weekend.
The traditional wedding ceremony took place at the popular Marriott Hotel in Ikeja Lagos, while DAILY TREND gathered from close sources that the destination wedding is expected to have taken place at the weekend somewhere in Europe.
The destination white wedding according to sources was scheduled for Dubai, but it was shifted due to some travel circumstances.
Among those present at the wedding held over the weekend were former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Dame Patience Jonathan, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy Obafemi Hamzat, Oluwo Of Iwo Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, and Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero.
Others spotted at the event were; Governor Dapo Abiodun, Ooni Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi, Rt. Hon Mudashiru Obasa, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Senator Tolu Odebiyi, Senator Iyiola Omisore, Oba Saheed Elegushi, Oba Gbolahan Lawal, Iyalaje Toyin Kolade, Prince Kayode Kolade, Otunba Segun Awolowo, David Adeleke, Oba Dosunmu and a host of others.
The wedding comes more than a month after Afolabi’s twin brother Kehinde died.
Mariam Afolabi is the group executive director of compliance at SIFAX Group. She is also the chief executive officer of Style Loft Box, a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle mall located in Victoria Island, Lagos. She is also a fashion designer, overseeing her brand called Mazelle Fashion and Studio.
Mariam graduated from the University of Warwick, Coventry, England with a degree in law and also obtained a postgraduate degree (LLM with distinction) in international maritime law from the International Maritime Law Institute, Malta.
