The Executive Governor of Kano State, His Excellency Abdullahi Umar Ganduje (OFR) and his entourage have paid a courtesy visit on the Minister of Transportation, Eng Muazu Jaji Sambo.
Ganduje has major projects in his State which is being spearheaded by the Ministry of Transportation.
Kano State is set to flag off the Dala Inland Dry Port, as well as the biggest railway project in Nigeria.
The Kano State government committed N2.5 billion in infrastructure support to the Dala Dry Port which is supposed to be commissioned in July 2022.
At the last check, Executive Secretary of Nigerian Shippers Council, Emmanuel Jime confirmed in June that the Dala Inland Dry Port is about 95 per cent completed in preparation for official commissioning and commencement of operations in July.
The $1.96 billion Kano-Katsina-Maradi railway project is also expected to start operating in May 2023 before the end of Governor Ganduje’s term in office.
