NPA, TTP Issue Minimum Safety Standard for Trucks, Debunks Claims of Change in Company’s Leadership

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and it’s contractor handling the port’s electronic call-up system; Trucks Transit Parks Limited (TTP) has issues fresh minimum safety standard checklist for trucks seeking to gain access into Nigerian ports.

This is even as the Trucks Transit Parks Limited (TTP) has debunked insinuations among the publics about a change in the company’s leadership.

Part of the checklist which truck owners and drivers must observe are; The Truck Head, RTSSS & Speed Limiter, Vehicle & Driver’s Particulars, and Trailer Main Body.

“The Truck head must not be with Plastic or cracked windscreen, must have functional wipers, inner rear view and side mirrors, safety belts, be neat and generally presentable.

“The truck must have Road Traffic Safety Standardization Scheme (RTSSS) Certificate duly issued by the FRSC. It must also have speed limiting device installed on it

“The vehicle must have valid license, Road worthiness and Insurance certificates, the driver must possess appropriate and valid driver’s license

“The carriage unit must be fitted with retro reflectors, indicators and warning signs. Carriage unit chassis must not be weak, bent or rusted”

The TTP renowned for its proprietary software, Eto app, an electronic callup system that has contributed to decongesting traffic in and around the Apapa and Tincan Island ecosystem, has emphatically debunked claims of change in its board of directors or company leadership in its entirety.

The company has informed the public that its co-founder, Mr. Jama Onwubuariri remains the Managing Director of the company and that no legal process for a change in management has been initiated.

In a press statement issued by the spokesperson of the TTP, Nancy Nnamdi, it says “The entire board of directors of the company as filed and certified with the Corporate Affairs Commission remains intact. You can confirm our management team details on the About Us section of our website, www.ttp.com.ng.

“The public is therefore advised to disregard any information or anyone claiming that a change in the composition of the board of directors of the company has taken place, and further disregard anyone posing as the new Managing Director of the Company; whether in a substantive or acting capacity.

“Since the launch of the truck callup system in February 2021, the Company has recorded significant strides in traffic management, deploying its traffic management technology Èto to solve, the perennial challenge of traffic gridlock in Apapa and its environs. This has also led to significant improvement in cargo evacuation from the ports.

“TTP’s 24/7 operational support to the maritime ecosystem in Apapa remains uninterrupted”
